  1.   What is the topic of your survey?

The topic of my survey is “Why managers should promote learning in the workplace.”

  1.   Why is the topic important? How might the study results be used in your personal or professional life? 

The current topic is significant in organizational learning and employee growth. In contemporary business organizations, the actions and knowledge of managers hold a central value for promoting employee learning and development. There are some necessary conditions for flourishing learning-oriented leadership in organizations. Many scholars and researchers believe managers must be trained before improving their employees’ productivity. Hence, this topic aims to analyze and explore managers’ learning-oriented leadership in organizations and what conditions managers should fulfill before promoting a learning culture.

Moreover, this study topic adds more value to the limited knowledge of managers’ learning and development to foster innovation in daily work. This research’s findings will help significantly improve managerial procedures and practices in business organizations and SMEs. This study focuses on workplace learning and helps managers identify various actions and activities to form learning behaviors. Therefore, using the results of this study in my personal and professional life, I will enhance my leadership skills and competencies and identify new ways to ensure continuous lifelong learning to foster my career and management practice. Moreover, this knowledge and research can help me develop my employees and promote their education in the workplace.

  1.   What are the potential variables to be included in data gathering? You must contain at least three variables that might be a part of your study. Write a minimum of one paragraph describing your potential variables. 

This research aims to improve the contextual nature of management in business organizations by using a survey questionnaire. These questions in the survey were formulated based on the purpose and research questions formed for this study. The following variables are used in the current study as independent, dependent, or outcome variables. These variables relate to quantitative questions in the survey questionnaire designed. 

Potential dependent variables:

  • Employee performance: Learning in the workplace may improve employee knowledge, skills, and abilities, which can lead to higher performance levels.
  • Employee satisfaction: When managers promote learning in the workplace, employees may feel more fulfilled, engaged, and satisfied with their jobs.
  • Employee retention: Employees who are given opportunities to learn and develop their skills may be more likely to stay with the company.
  • Organizational success: Learning in the workplace may contribute to the organization’s overall success by increasing productivity, innovation, and competitiveness.

Potential independent variables:

  • Managerial support: The degree to which managers promote and support learning in the workplace.
  • Training and development programs: The presence and quality of training and development programs offered by the organization.
  • Learning culture: The extent to which the organization values and encourages a culture of continuous learning.
  • Employee motivation: The intrinsic and extrinsic motivation employees have to learn and develop their skills.
  • Access to resources: The availability and accessibility of resources (e.g., time, budget, technology) that facilitate learning in the workplace.

  These variables are significant in creating an organizational learning culture and helping managers boost employees’ knowledge and innovation. Using LMS for performance and productivity, managers can better support employees in developing learning urgency and take more interest in improving their skills. Integration of learning processes into HR is a vital variable that helps shape the overall learning culture through HR processes and systems. This will allow new employees to learn the importance of learning in their daily activities and focus on L&D rather than following instructions. Moreover, the independent variable of Employee Motivation plays a crucial role in organizations because managers can help employees to innovate through learning if they are better motivated to achieve higher goals.

  1.   Define the population to be studied. Write 1–3 sentences describing your target population. Include specific characteristics, including age range, gender, location, and other identifiers unique and relevant to your people.

This study’s population will comprise individuals working in business organizations (SMEs and corporations). The population to be studied includes both males and females working in different firms in several industrial sectors. These people can have diverse ethnic backgrounds and cultures, and religions. They can also have different age ranges between 18 to 50 years, and they can work in any location in the country. However, home-based workers and freelance workers are not included in the study’s sample. The sample size is 50 people, with almost 25 males and 25 females. The respondents will be from higher management, officers, HR employees, and CEOs.

  1.   Explain why this is the best population for your study. Write at least one paragraph analyzing why you have chosen this population for your research.

Since I am a business management student with a keen interest and passion for becoming a successful leader, my career goals and ambitions suggest selecting this population and sample that falls within the category of business employees, managers, and leaders to promote a learning culture and lifelong learning. I also aim to observe different employees in business organizations, how they encourage their knowledge, and how many struggles to foster learning in their daily activities. With this population, the data collected will be appropriate to help me make the right conclusions and recommendations for firms to improve their learning practices.

  • APA Format and Writing Quality

Familiarize yourself with the APA format and practice using it correctly. It is used for most writing assignments for your degree. Visit the Writing Center in the Student Success Center, under the Resources tab in Loud-cloud for APA paper templates, citation examples, tips, etc. Points will be deducted for poor use of APA format or absence of APA format (if required). Cite all sources of information! When in doubt, cite the source. Paraphrasing also requires a citation. I highly recommend using the APA Publication Manual, 6th edition.

  • Use of Direct Quotes

I discourage over-utilization of direct quotes in DQs and assignments at the Master’s level and deduct points accordingly. As Masters’ level students, it is important that you be able to critically analyze and interpret information from journal articles and other resources. Simply restating someone else’s words does not demonstrate an understanding of the content or critical analysis of the content. It is best to paraphrase content and cite your source.

If you do not communicate with me before submitting an assignment late, the GCU late policy will be in effect. I do not accept assignments that are two or more weeks late unless we have worked out an extension. As per policy, no assignments are accepted after the last day of class. Any assignment submitted after midnight on the last day of class will not be accepted for grading.
