I want to become a CPS-certified nurse because I have a strong interest to work in the clinical setting and interact with my patients directly. CPS certification will serve as rigorous training for me as this certification includes getting hands-on firsthand working experience. Therefore, I will be able to better learn in an educative environment. In recent years, we have seen a rise in the use of alcohol and other drugs, especially in young adults (Patrick et al., 2022). Hence, there is a need to use both evidence and clinical-based recourses to help patients with their diagnosis and cater to specific solutions for health improvement. CPS certification will provide me with adequate and necessary skills in several areas of study such as mental, psychological, and physical health which will enable me to provide patient-centered care and work toward enhancing patient safety (Kwame & Petrucka, 2021).
