Post 1:Hello everyone and welcome to week 8.

Please describe the topic you have chosen for the Week 8 PowerPoint presentation and discuss why you feel it is important to nursing and healthcare.

For my presentation, the topic I have chosen is nursing during an epidemic, pandemic, or natural disaster. I believe nurses play important roles during instances of the epidemic. I feel that the topic is important to nursing and healthcare as it helps inform changes that are necessary for the nurses to perform during the pandemic. During the pandemics, the nurses are taught about the preventive measures they can incorporate to prevent themselves from being infected (Goni-Fuste et al., 2021). For example, during the coronavirus, the nurses were given protective gear to deal with the infected individuals accordingly. It also helps them formulate the different strategies they can incorporate during the pandemic. I believe that the topic is important as it helps the nurses to understand the issues that directly impact healthcare at the global level. Moreover, the topic provides the strategies that nurses can use to cope with the challenges presented by the pandemic.

The topic is important to nursing and healthcare as it helps them type a call of action to prevent pandemics and disasters. The topic is important as it makes the nurses be in the frontline to deal with the emergencies that happen during the disasters. The healthcare and the government provide the resources required so that the nursing can fully step in during the time of crisis (Sperling, 2021). Nursing’s contributions to strengthening the public health sector during times of crisis began during Nightingale’s time. She is credited as the creator of contemporary nursing since she encouraged nurses and taught them numerous ways for teaching people about crisis situations. I believe the topic is significant because it assists nurses and healthcare providers in continuing to offer excellent care during times of crisis. During a crisis, different habits such as hand washing, preventive measures, and good sanitation are necessary.

Post 2: The topic I chose for the week 8 PowerPoint presentation is the impact of telehealth technology on patient outcomes.

Telehealth is one of the most essential healthcare technologies, and I’m interested in learning more about how it influences clinical outcomes. This technology evolves in response to technological advancements, making it an attractive field of study and research (Groom et al., 2021). The necessity to ultimately adopt telehealth in the healthcare context has piqued my interest in researching the issue and developing potential strategies for implementation. Again, technology may play a key role in enhancing patients’ incentive to seek medical help, critical for better patient outcomes. Telehealth seems to have a significant influence on my nursing team’s duties. In the nursing field, for example, I will have extra responsibilities, such as regular communication with patients receiving care at home. Currently, telehealth is critical in helping low-income patients who are unable to travel to receive better care from the comfort of their own homes. Clinicians use mobile phones to keep track of patients’ development and advise clients on the best course of action (Groom et al., 2021). Telehealth lowers healthcare expenses by removing the need for patients to physically visit a medical facility for treatment (Beheshti et al., 2022). Once again, telehealth is supporting patients in obtaining more treatment from healthcare specialists by reducing the time they spend waiting in hospitals. Telehealth decreases the impact of the nursing shortage by allowing patients more accessible access to professionals (Beheshti et al., 2022). Without the “red tape” of traditional on-site appointments, nurses may focus more on client care and satisfaction, resulting in enhanced efficiency.
