Overview
Students will read Trauma and Recovery by Judith Herman, identify themes of interest, and prepare a 6-8 page paper describing and discussing themes. Students will support their discussion using material from class lectures, texts and additional research.
Read Trauma and Recovery by Judith Herman (see suggested reading schedule in the Course Schedule section of the syllabus). Identify one to two themes of interest. Write a six-to-eight-page paper describing and discussing your selected themes. Include things you understood and insight you gained about the themes. Describe how this will assist you in the process when working with clients. Comment on your personal response to each theme. Use material from class lectures, texts and resources to support your discussion. Do additional research on each theme, citing at least two additional outside sources. Assignment is to be written in APA Format, including a reference page. Be prepared to present your ideas to the class and participate in a class discussion
