Overview
Students will prepare a short slide deck using power point or google slides (no more than 10 slides, including title slide, and reference slides).
The content on this standalone slide deck should provide a compelling rationale for why educators have an important role to play in the mental health of school aged-children and youth and should be designed for use by schools as part of teacher training on mental health (e.g., a presentation that could be emailed out to teachers to complete as an online learning module).
Students should use empirical evidence to support their points, including data on the prevalence of mental health concerns among school-aged children and youth, reference to educational policy on the role of educators in the classroom, and data supporting teacher training in mental health literacy.
