Psychology Question

Psychology Question

Assignment Instruction:

Throughout the course, you have encountered various moral theories. While the first few weeks provided enough exposure to start building a moral compass, you have had more time to better understand these theories and should be better informed and prepared to defend a moral theory than you were in week three. That choice may or may not be the same one you presented in the earlier assignment.

The goal here is to choose just one theory that you believe is the "best" guide for moral behavior.

You will do this by applying your critical thinking skills to create an infographic promoting this theory, being sure to **document the source you used to define any theory mentioned. You may defend one theory independently (e.g., "Ross's Prima Facie Rules are Supreme!") or you can do it by comparing it to other theories (e.g., "Rule Utilitarianism Trumps any Divine Command").

Imagine yourself in marketing, trying to persuade others to choose your theory. Describe situations where this theory offers good guidance. Highlight the positives. What can your theory do that others cannot or just do better?

Details:

  • Using PowerPoint (click on "New" and search themes for "Infographic." There are several FREE templates to choose from), create an infographic that convincingly promotes your theory as an ideal guide for future moral decisions.
  • This is NOT a PPT and should be on ONE "Slide." It will be a long slide, but should be just one slide - think "poster" where you can see everything at once.
  • You are free to use other systems such as Piktochart or Canva, just be sure you can submit the assignment in a way the instructor can view for free.
  • Have fun and be creative.
  • It’s okay to display some negatives, but the main goal is to promote your theory.
  • Make sure to submit it as a PDF or that the link works (test it by sending it to others to see if they can open it). Remember, if your instructor can't view it, he or she can't assess it.
  • Please do not purchase a subscription unless you intend to, and refrain from submitting any content that requires a paid subscription to view. Again, if free viewing isn’t possible, it won’t be graded.
  • **Document your sources: If you are defining any theory, you need to use course material and include a citation in the sentence where the definition occurs. NOTE, citations are for summaries, paraphrases, and quotations. Per university guidelines, all references must be "traceable." Failure to add a link I can follow to your exact resource may be seen as plagiarism and earn you a zero on this assignment.
  • See the example below:

Example: Virtue ethics focuses on the person and not the actions or intentions (Giles). The goal is to be the best person one can be.
