Select ONE Prompt
Prompt 1: Cultural Responsiveness in ABA Practice
Applied behavior analysts work with individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ethical practice requires awareness and respect for these differences. In your presentation, address the following:
- Define and explain cultural responsiveness within the context of applied behavior analysis and ethical practice.
- Identify at least two relevant Ethics Code standards related to cultural responsiveness and/or diversity. Include code numbers and explain how each standard applies.
- Describe how failure to consider cultural variables may lead to ethical concerns and ineffective or inappropriate services.
- Provide an example of a situation involving a cultural consideration, identify key ethical considerations, and describe appropriate professional responses a behavior analyst should consider when planning services.
- Briefly explain how ethical standards inform your response to the scenario.
Note: Focus on identifying and explaining ethical considerations rather than developing a detailed intervention plan.

- Define personal bias from a behavior-analytic perspective.

- Identify at least two relevant Ethics Code standards related to objectivity, professionalism, or bias awareness. Include code numbers and explain how each standard applies.
- Describe how unexamined bias may affect interactions with clients or caregivers, assessment, and decision making.
- Provide an example of a situation in which bias could influence professional behavior, identify key ethical considerations, and describe appropriate professional responses.
