Field placements are where we see practice meet policy; however, we don't often think of macro practice when we think of field placements. My micro practice field placements molded me into the social worker I am today, but looking back, I could have benefited from exposure to macro practice. I encourage you to set aside some time to reach out to a social worker who engages in macro practice and talk to them about their social work careers or, perhaps, even seek a macro field placement.
