Bloom's Taxonomy Applied to Questioning
Bloom’s taxonomy is the hierarchical application of cognitive skills using a higher-order thinking skill. The "Bloom's Taxonomy Applied to Questioning" chart starts with comprehension (for the discussion board questions) which is the basis of hierarchical cognitive processing and ends with evaluation (University of Pittsburgh, n.d.).
Chapter 1 Questions
Chapter 1 of Creswell & Poth’s book is an introduction of qualitative research (Creswell, W & Poth, N., 2018). One of Bloom’s taxonomy comprehension-based questioning related to chapter 1 is: - “What is qualitative research?” The second question based on Bloom’s taxonomy of stage two (application) will be: - “Can you apply qualitative research in your study?”
Chapter 2 Questions
Chapter 2 of Creswell & Poth’s book is about philosophy and interpretive frameworks related to the research process (Creswell, W & Poth, N., 2018). One of Bloom’s taxonomy analysis (stage 3) questions will be “How would you link philosophical assumptions and interpretive frameworks with research?” The second question based on Bloom’s taxonomy of stage 4 (synthesis) will be “What might happen when we combine philosophy to the research process?”
APA Chapter Questions
Chapter 4 of APA talks about writing style and grammar usage (American Psychological Association, 2020). One of Bloom’s taxonomy stage 5 (evaluating) question will be “How would you determine the right writing style and grammar usage in research paper?” The second question will be “What changes to the writing style and grammar usage would you recommend?”

V.W Posted Using the "Bloom's Taxonomy Applied to Questioning" chart, create 2 questions for each of the chapters assigned for reading this week. Maximize your questioning techniques by employing all 5 levels of questioning.
Creswell & Poth Chapter 1 Questions:
1). What elements differ regarding Denzin and Lincoln’s interpretation of qualitative research compared to the definition provided by Creswell and Poth? What information can you provide to support your findings? What is your interpretation of qualitative research?
2). Chapter 1 discusses the five approaches commonly seen in qualitative research (Narrative Research, Phenomenology, Grounded Theory, Ethnography, and Case Study. What are some noticeable differences between each approach? Which approach is more applicable to the field you're in?
Creswell & Poth Chapter 2 Questions:
1). Describe the four different types of philosophical assumptions? Which assumption would you apply to your own research?
2). Based on the reading this week, what are philosophical assumptions? Do you think your own philosophical assumptions impact your research? If so, how can you correct this issue?
APA Chapter 4 Questions:
1). What are contractions, colloquialisms, and jargon? How can they impact your research? What are some ways to avoid using contractions, colloquialisms, and jargon in scholarly writing?
2). If you had to review another student’s paper who had a lot of grammatical issues, how would you address it? Explain the impact of incorrect grammar and usage on the reader. Provide one example of incorrect grammar and how it should be corrected.
