EDCO747 Research Plan Overview: Revision Stage 3

Overview

STAGE 3 This stage contributes the final section of the Research Plan Overview, giving you a complete outline. Review Stage 2 of your research plan and make revisions or edits as necessary. Supply the information required for the Methods section (III), subheadings F, G, and H. Also, supply the requested information for Appendices A and D. Finally, polish the Review of Related Literature section (II), adding any final elements you think are necessary.

Post your Research Plan Overview: Revision. Carefully review your outline for clear and concise writing before you copy and paste the outline into your thread. Remember, your outline must provide you with enough information to spur detailed writing later. Submit your thread with a detailed title so your classmates can quickly decide which ones they will want to read. For example, "Studying First Grade English Language Learners" or "Studying Deployed Soldiers' Return to Their Families."

*Remember to keep adding references to the related literature (Lit Review) as you work through the stages.

III. Methods "Citation needed for your rationale."

A. Design (approach) and Rationale

1.Phenomenological approach

2.This approach is suitable because of the potential for in-depth analysis of the lived experience sand views of the adult immigrant population on nostalgia and its effects on depression. The choice of phenomenological approach is accurate in mapping the nuanced interplay of diverse factors such as culture and host country attributes and the subjective experiences[JK1] of the target population.

[JK1]Great data collection methods! You do need one more. In qualitative, we do 3 data collection methods. Appendix B Interview Questions/Guide[JK1]. "Since we are trying to create a conversation, start the interview with a fun icebreaker."

[JK1]Since we are trying to create a conversation, start the interview with a fun icebreaker. Appendix B Interview Questions/Guide[JK1]. "This a great start!! Just make sure you have enough questions to keep them talking for at least an hour. Rule of Thumb: A good interview will be an hour minimum in order to get deep, thick, rich, data. Because we seek deep, thick, rich, data, we avoid binary, closed-ended (yes/no) questions completely. So instead of “Can” or “Did;” use “Please Describe… When you use “can” or “did,” they can be answered with a yes or no."
