Overview
In this final module, we've turned our focus towards those theorists who look beyond the "West" to issues facing marginalized areas of the world. In some ways, it is a natural extension of the topics discussed by critical race, feminist, and queer/ LGTBQ+ theorists. But they also offer insights into other issues of power and social, political, and economic relations between different parts of the world, extending the work of Marx. These are also theorists who highlight the way the world is changing through globalization.For this seminar, choose a current global issue and use social theory to explain or critique this issue. How does a global perspective on social theory change our understanding of society and social relations and change the way we understand and look at social theory?
Please remember that this assignment is a case analysis using social theory concepts and perspectives that you have explored in this course. This is not a personal opinion editorial.
