Overview
The Course Capstone Project involves planning and implementing a public health initiative to address a public health problem in your community. The project is sustained throughout the course. You are expected to complete work on your Course Capstone Project each week.
Your tasks this week are to:
- Review the research you have conducted about the health issue and the target population.
- Review your program implementation proposal considering the stated measurable goals and objectives you finalized last week.
- Finalize your ideas for implementing the community health program. Revise and expand on your program implementation proposal draft from Week 3 to write a proposal in 1,400 words. Ensure you answer the following questions and provide a proper rationale for each:
- With whom should you partner to implement the program?
- What potential barriers to program implementation (e.g., socioeconomic, cultural, physical, environmental, political) exist and how can you overcome them?
- Where is the best location in the community to ensure the necessary access for all program participants?
- When is the best time to implement the program in your community?
- Prepare a 1- to 2-page budget using Microsoft® Excel® and justify operational costs. Address all the items below:
- Resources needed to implement the program:
- Funding
- Staffing
- Equipment & software
- Office space
- Supplies & Materials
- Travel & transportation
- Incentives for participation
- Gaps in capacity or resources that can be filled by stakeholder subcontracts.
