Social Science Question

Overview

Introduction: An Ethical Culture Assessment presents the opportunity to examine the health of an organization’s culture and supplies valuable information to assess the alignment between the current ethical culture and its espoused values. As a tool of leadership and governance, it provides a meaningful way for senior leaders and executive management teams to understand the culture and set organizational expectations.

Directions: Select an Ethical Culture Assessment instrument mentioned below and use it as an assessment in your organization to benchmark the ethical climate of your organization. Based on this data, create a managerial report that shares the degree to which your organization has an ethical culture. Identify the specific cultural strengths and weaknesses that may lead to, or deter, ethical misbehavior, and provide recommendations to sustain sound ethical standards and action steps on how to improve on deficiencies.

1. Instrument: Select one assessment instrument (see the three options listed below) and modify it as needed to make it appropriate for your organization. a. Ethics Assessment [Open Source Instrument] b. Self-Assessment Tool for Non-Profit Organizations [Open Source Instrument] c. Non-Profit Leadership and Organizational Excellence Assessment Tool [Open Source Instrument] 2. Assessment: Using the assessment instrument, assess your organization by comparing the espoused ethical values with the enacted ethical values. Collect anonymous responses from at least 10 participants using an online tool. This may require you to invite double this number. 3. Ethical Codes: Discuss the degree to which the organization’s ethical codes of conduct support and guide their policies, procedures, training, reputation, and conduct (develop a list of recommended ethical codes for the organization if they do not have one). 4. Ethical Findings: Write a report on your findings noting the organization’s ethical strengths, deficiencies, and challenges in sustaining an ethical climate. Present your findings in tables or charts, along with statistical means and standard deviations for items. 5. Recommendations: Include steps on how the organization should elevate its strengths and improve or eliminate its ethical shortcomings. 6. Outcomes: Describe the anticipated outcomes once the ethical recommendations are adopted. 7. Conclusion: End the report with a strong conclusion and a clear call to action.

Format: Complete the Ethical Cultural Assessment Report of no less than 2,500 words and no more than 3,000 words communicating your findings and recommendations. Use the above-numbered project sections titles to help organize your report. Place a table of your survey results as an appendix. Include 5 references using the APA writing Style including in-text citations and a list of References (not in word count) at the end of the report.
