Overview
Studies will develop a navigational tool to promote healthcare access. The purpose of this navigational tool is to create a health-literate and accessible resource that can be utilized by social workers and other health professionals in a patient advocacy or navigational role. The intended audience for this public communication tool is individuals, families, and caregivers with barriers to accessing health insurance or navigating the managed care components of the healthcare system. This tool may take on many forms and must be geared toward a specific client or patient group. Regardless of the medium you use; the tool must be produced in an accessible format that reflects an understanding of the cultural and linguistic characteristics of the intended audience. Examples may include:
Websites or virtual newsletters with curated resource lists and relevant navigational information
1. Summary: Submit a one-page document with a very brief description of your navigational tool, the audience, and its purpose. Provide any additional details relevant to understand and interpret it.
You can choose from one of the following the audience: Individuals, families, or caregivers.
2. The navigational tool: If your resource is hosted online, include a link to access it in the one-page summary. If your resource is a separate file, upload the file separately.
3. The self-graded rubric from the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/ccindex/index.htm: make sure your final score is correctly calculated at the end.
