Overview
Write a Position Paper based upon the specific topic you selected from the CQ Researcher to write your Describing Policy Problems Assignment on in Module 3: Week 3.
The Position Paper should be written from the perspective of a non-profit organization that is concerned about the issue. You will pretend to be the organization’s communications director.
The intended audience for the Position Paper is the pretend federal congressional committee you wrote the Policy Brief for. We will pretend that the congressional committee will be holding an in-person hearing on the topic soon. The head of the committee has requested that you prepare a Position Paper to circulate to the committee prior to speaking at the hearing.
Your Position Paper should include the following sections:
• Title Page
o The title page should be formatted using current APA format.
• Introduction
o The introduction should identify the specific issue on the topic and state your position on the issue.
• Body
o The body should include your central argument on the topic.
o The body should also include background information, evidence to support your position on the topic, and a brief analysis of both sides of the issue.
• Conclusion
o The conclusion should restate your main points and offer at least 2 recommendations for solutions to the issue.
• Reference Page
o The reference page should be formatted using current APA format. The required number of citations appears below.
