part 1) Please post a question based on the article, "Last Call." (The question should be more thoughtful than a yes/no question). And then, respond to another student's question by the following week.
part 2) In about two paragraphs or so, please reflect on the reading(s) for the week. Alternatively, here are some writing prompts you can respond to:
- Drawing on Durkheim, what does it mean to view suicide "sociologically"? That is, what social conditions might produce feelings of isolation and stress?
- What methods does Nemoto use in treating his isolated clients? How does he reach them?
- What do you think of his methods? Are they effective?
