- I think Elaine is responsible for murdering Mr. Brooks.
- I believe Elaine is responsible because size 5 shoe tread was found on the scene. Elaine is petite and wears size 4 jeans. It is reasonable to assume she wears a size 5 shoe. She also lives with Peggy who smokes and there was a cigarette butt found on the scene. She attends a step aerobics class that she never misses. The time of death was placed at 4:20pm and the class was at 5pm. Assuming she was driving at 50-60 mph and the picnic was 20 miles away, she would have had time to drive Mr. Brooks' car into downtown Centerville, leave the car, and make it to her step aerobics class on time. Additionally, Mr. Brooks was also found on a yellow sheet and Elaine hates the color yellow.
- Did Peggy regularly smoke near or with Elaine? Did the cigarette butt found on scene come from Elaine? Did Elaine plant the cigarette on purpose? Did Mr. Brooks smoke? Why would Mr. Brooks bring a yellow sheet if he knew Elaine hated yellow? Did he not know she hated yellow and that fact spurred her on to shoot him? If Mr. Brooks was shot in the back of the head, why was he found on his back and not his front?
- I do not think Rita is responsible because while her father owns a gun shop, she still lives 30 miles west of Centerville. I do not think she would have time to kill Mr. Brooks 20 miles north of Centerville, drive back into downtown, leave the car, and drive all the way home and still make it home by 5pm. I do not think Lauren is responsible because she is too tall to wear size 5 shoes. I do not think Gail is responsible because while she is petite, she hates yellow, and also smokes, she is still vegan. The food found on scene contained animal product, therefore, she would not have eaten any of it. Assuming Mr. Brooks knew this, if she was the date, he would have brought vegan friendly foods. I do not think Janice is responsible because while she is petite, she is a full time caterer and can't drive. Finally, I do not think Peggy is responsible because while she smokes, she is deathly allergic to grapes which means she would not have drank any wine. Assuming Mr. Brooks was aware of her allergy, if she was the date, he would not have brought wine.
