LM Theories and Concepts in International Policymaking (GLOBAL PUBLIC POLICY)

Overview

As the university does not allow the use of AI-generated content for assessments, AI-generated text should not be used.

This assignment is the summative assessment for the module LM Theories and Concepts in International Policymaking. Students are required to write a 4,000-word comparative policy analysis focusing on a specific public policy problemacross two different countries (comparisons within the UK are not permitted). The report should compare how the problem is defined, its causes, and the groups affected in each country, and critically analyse how each country has responded through the policy process. The analysis must engage with at least two core concepts from the module, such as policy transfer, the policy cycle, or welfare regimes, applying them as analytical tools. Based on the comparative analysis, students should develop evidence-based policy recommendations for each country and consider opportunities for cross-national learning or policy transfer. The report should be supported by academic literature, policy evidence, and relevant grey literature, and submitted in line with the module guidelines.
