To what extent and in what ways can financial wellbeing and inclusion be considered policy issues? Discuss with reference to relevant examples and evidence. Examine how individual characteristics (e.g., gender, ethnicity, social class) interact with broader demographic trends (e.g., ageing societies) or systemic factors (e.g., policy frameworks, labour markets, financial institutions) to produce unequal financial wellbeing outcomes in a life stage or across the life course. You may focus on a specific life stage or provide an analysis across the entire life course. Analyse inequalities in income, wealth and financial wellbeing across the life course, focusing on one of the following dimensions: gender, ethnicity, social class, or the intersection of two dimensions (e.g., gender and ethnicity). You can discuss your answer in reference to a specific domain/policy area (e.g., education, health/care, employment, etc.) or a few closely linked policy areas. If relevant, you can identify specific social groups on which to focus (i.e., people who share certain characteristics, such as low-income earners).
Based on the position you develop, discuss potential policy and/or practice solutions to tackle the issues highlighted.
