Overview
The objective of this assignment is for you to develop a comprehensive proposal for a community event based upon the identified social justice issue, using information gained from the Community Asset Map Template and Community Member Interview. The community event typically serves the purpose of 1) advocating for change(s) related to your identified social justice issue by engaging community members and stakeholders and/or 2) raising awareness about a community need, services, and service providers related to that need, so that community members know how to access what they need. This assignment will provide you with practical experience in event planning and coordination, emphasizing the importance of collaboration, safety considerations, marketing strategies, budgeting, and day-of-event logistics.
