In this module, we learned that constellations are easily recognizable groups of stars. People have historically found shapes in these star arrangements and associated them with animals, mythological beings and gods. Nowadays, these names help us identify these constellations in space. In this discussion assignment, we will explore the sky using stargazing apps.

Grab a smartphone or tablet and find a stargazing app. You may test a couple of them to find your favorite. Make sure that the app is freely available and that it allows you to highlight the names of constellations. Some options include: SkyView Lite (iPhone/Android), Star Tracker (iPhone/Android), Sky Map (Android), Night Sky (iPhone). Please be aware that the availability of some apps may depend on your device, so it is up to you to search for more options. Once you pick the app of your choice and install it, go outside and move around to find constellations. Try exploring around for stars, constellations, and maybe even satellites (if these show up on the app). If you do not have access to a mobile device, then you could find a web-based online planetarium or sky map and do the same using your browser.
Initial Post
In your initial post, you will select a constellation that you are able to recognize when using the stargazing app and take a screenshot. You will upload this screenshot as part of this assignment and share it with others. Please be careful not to share sensitive information from your phone in this screenshot. You may crop the image as much as needed. Then you will research your chosen constellation, its name, why it is called like that, who named it, and how many stars does it include. Does any star or planet standout in your view? If possible tell us why you picked this specific constellation. Write a brief summary 200 words and communicate your key findings. Please include a list of references at the end of your post, which can be websites, articles, book chapters, or other sources of information. Please no plagiarism,no ai, no chat bots
