Firstly, consider using Compliance Week or Accounting Today (of course, feel free to use the Egmont case files from the previous forums if you prefer) to find a case/investigation/etc. (you are not limited to using those two sites).
find a case that either has gone to trial and reached a conclusion, or one that is currently ongoing. From there, discuss and analyze as much as you can from the available information regarding components such as: jury trial or bench trial; what kind of statements/arguments were made at opening/closing; any pre-trial motions that were filed; whether expert witnesses were used; how long the trial lasted; the makeup of the trial participants; whether the defense brought a case; what kind of evidence was admitted; background on the judge's history; and, of course, what kind of verdict was decided (or not decided!). Feel free to highlight any of the above and whatever else you may have found particularly interesting or significant. If you choose a trial still in progress, share what you think may be the outcome. If the trial has concluded, share if the outcome was what you would have anticipated. As you may see, the research for this response may took a bit more time than the previous ones. So, take that into account when planning for your submission since you may need to reference multiple external sources to compile the necessary information for a sufficient post.
