Accounting Question

Scenario

TED Talks are known around the world for their high-quality productions with exceptionally well-communicated messages. These exceptional presentations led to locally produced TEDx Talks. Typically, these are somewhat less polished and can be critiqued in a way that allows you to find strengths and weaknesses in the presentation you choose to evaluate.

Directions

You are a presentation coach for TEDx. You have been asked to provide critical feedback for a speaker of your choice to help the speaker understand strengths and weaknesses and to make recommendations to improve the delivery. You will use the Presentation Critique Rubric found in the What to Submit section of this document to evaluate the presentation and then create a critique that is designed to help the presenter improve performance.

  • Select a TEDx Talk of your choice from options offered through the link in Supporting Materials.
  • Analyze the presentation based on the criteria provided in the presentation rubric found in the What to Submit section.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses.
  • Make recommendations to strengthen the presentation.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

  1. Complete the Presentation Critique Rubric on the video of your choice.
  2. Identify examples of strengths of the presentation.
  3. Identify examples of weaknesses of the presentation.
  4. Make recommendations for ways to improve the presentation. Include the following:
    1. Recommendations for improvement
    2. Supporting examples for how to make improvements

What to Submit

Students will submit two documents:

  • The completed presentation critique using double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins. This assignment should use Microsoft Word and be 2–3 pages in length. Sources should be cited according to APA style. Consult the Shapiro Library APA Style Guide for more information on citations.
  • The completed Presentation Critique Rubric.
