Hi,

I need your help with an important assignment that carries a high weight in my final grade. It is based on a real banking project in Ahli Bank, Oman, and involves applying the Central Bank of Oman’s (CBO) sector segmentation into the bank’s core systems. Your task is to prepare both a research paper and a PowerPoint presentation based on the project’s deliverables, scope, and data I will attach (Excel file).

Context:

Ahli Bank is implementing the CBO’s new directive to segment all clients (corporate and SME) by industry sector. This project involves:

  • Mapping customers to the CBO’s official sector definitions.
  • Adjusting customer data, risk profiles, and growth targets.
  • Updating systems (core banking (Equation for conventional and iMal for Islamic Banking) , credit policy, reporting).
  • Creating a sector-based budgeting strategy.
  • Validating and finalizing sector growth plans.

The project is fully Oman-market focused, using actual bank client data and CBO segmentation logic. You will use the Excel I provide to extract insights on:

  • Growth targets
  • Sector exposure
  • Risk weightage
  • Capital and RWA impact
  • Loan concentrations by sector

    Structure of the Research Paper:

  • Each deliverable should be a separate section with a clear heading, and supported with relevant analysis.

      • Explain the mapping process. (How will you implement codes for each industry provided and input them in equation and iMal.
