Watch and evaluate a performance of a filmed theater event, so the first thing to do would be to go and find the recent BBC production of Shakespeare's comedy Twelfth Night.
STEP ONE:
Click the link below, go to the letter D, select Digital Theater Plus, and search for Twelfth Night. You want the production done by the Royal Shakespeare Company.

STEP TWO:
Watch the play, which isn't too long and which, in my opinion, is very entertaining and well-acted.
While you watch, ask yourself the following questions:
How similar is this production to what you have learned about how theater was done during the Elizabethan/Jacobean period when it was written? For example, does the theater space look like the kind of space that would have been used in 1602? Who was permitted to act onstage in 1602 in England and who wasn't? What other similarities might come to mind?
Do you see any similarities here between how theater was done in other countries during the Renaissance? For example, what types of comedy were done in Italy, France, or Spain? What were the theater spaces like?
What aspects of ancient Comedy and Modern Comedy do you see in this production? What did Menander, Plautus, Terence, or Aristophanes write about, and do you see aspects of that in this play?
MOST IMPORTANT: What do YOU THINK AND FEEL about what you see? What are YOUR honest feelings and reactions to the play, good or bad?
