Overview
This discussion this week is meant for you to share with other students in the class the virtual tours you experienced or the actual tour of a museum you took in preparation for the museum paper assignment. Post the link to the art museum you actually visited or plan to visit. Discuss what appealed to you about the exhibition or artwork that you chose and what the two questions are that you will be using to begin your research about the artwork you will be analyzing.

ASSIGNMENT virtual tour of an art museum
WRITE A PARAGRAPH INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:
In preparation for your actual or virtual tour of a chosen art museum(see list in museum assignment), choose either an art museum to visit or a virtual tour to take
State the name of the art museum and if you will be touring a specific art exhibition there, either virtually or actually, state the name of the exhibition also. Remember you can choose an artwork from the art museum's collection also the artwork does not have to be part of a special exhibition.
Identify the artwork/s, (make sure to include; artist's name, title, date, dimension) and/or special exhibition you are considering writing about for your museum paper.
Write an introductory/thesis statement following the guidelines given in the museum paper assignment. Remember the thesis statement is your 'map' for writing your paper, so make sure to include the two formal elements and one principle of composition/design that you will be analyzing in the paper. Additionally, you want to write a statement about what you will be 'proving' regarding how the visual elements communicate the content you constructed and how context(historic, art historic, physical, for example) also play a part in your understanding of the content. You can also include a few sentences below the introductory paragraph about why the artist and the selected work/s intrigue you.
Research: Include two questions you want to explore in your research regarding the chosen artist, artwork/s.
