For this assignment, you are going to learn about what artists are making in the 21st century.
Contemporary art is a powerful tool for informing viewers, by challenging perceptions, creating dialogue, and encouraging critical thinking. In the Art21 videos, many artists in their works portray societal issues, cultural narratives, personal experiences, and much more. The artists invite us to engage with diverse perspectives. By challenging what is "normal", contemporary artists can bring to light the complexities of modern life, which can inspire emotional and intellectual reflections.
For this assignment, You will write two essays on the videos provided in Art21. These need to be in your own words.
Write at least 250 words about an artist you watch. You can write about what they talk about, why they create art, what materials they use to make art, specific works they are showcasing, and what you take away from the video. How does it impact you? How does it make you feel? Please be mindful of your grammar and professionalism. Along with the writing, provide the link.
