Comprehensive Preparedness
Purpose: To evaluate the needs of individual communities in preparing for and managing disaster situations.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Summarize the potential risk with facts regarding the possibility of a disaster that would require a community-wide response. For instance, the location of a large airport facility, multiple interstate highways merging, heavy rail traffic with toxic substances, poor utility infrastructure, fire risk, regular weather conditions, location of a nuclear power plant, etc.)
- Evaluate the approach from a case study that a similar community used
- Suggest ideas on adapting this approach for your own community
- Estimate the potential economic and system costs for not joining in community collaboration and planning.
Paper should be 4-5 pages , is formatted based on APA guidelines, and includes in-text citations and a reference page including resources from this week and any external resources used.

Cybersecurity and Risk Management
Purpose: To evaluate and plan to mitigate emerging cybersecurity threats.
Instructions: Create a 2-3 page briefing paper that describes the top 5 cybersecurity risks to a healthcare organization. In the paper, detail 1-2 risk management strategies to address each identified risk.
For example, system hacking to steal patient information, phishing attempts in employee communications, use of patient portals by third parties, etc.
