Overview
Draft: Write a 3-5 page per draft analysis (not including references or images) of the critical scientific issues raised by a current environmental health problem. The two articles require different analyses. I post the topic I choose and some information on the list and the reference is also on it , just need to finish two science draft based on the pdf.
Audience, content and tone: You are writing a briefing paper for a regulatory administrator, advocacy
organization, or policy-maker. You are the expert who is educating them on the scientific issues. Frame your
arguments in accessible and compelling ways to a non-expert in the field about which you are writing. If you are
dealing with some esoteric issues such as the law, scientific disputes, etc., use jargon and acronyms sparingly.
Objective: Explain the scientific issues and/or the risk assessment questions that are critical to decision-making
about the environmental health problem. Your review can cover the toxicological, epidemiological, and/or
ecological and social science pertinent to clarifying the issues and forwarding your arguments.
Scientific literature: Situate your analysis in the relevant scientific literature that backs up your arguments
regarding the environmental health issues related to your topic. We are not looking for a comprehensive
survey/review of the literature, but, rather, your opinions about the strength of the scientific evidence and concerns
you may have regarding scientific uncertainties.
