Workforce Planning; Job Analysis, Job Design
SLP Assignment
In the Module 1 Case assignment, as the HR Generalist at your current employer, you were asked to analyze the company’s employment needs for the next 12 months, paying attention to job design, job specifications, and job descriptions. You had to apply your knowledge to design and implement a job analysis and job specifications. Now you are ready for the third step: the preparation to update a job description for the vacant position at your company that you identified in Case 1.
Begin this SLP assignment by reviewing your analysis of the selected vacant position. Review the required readings/videos and prepare a submission as itemized below.
In your essay, address the three parts of the assignment:
- Describe the components that make up a job description and explain why each is important.
- Incorporate the concept of increasing value at your organization through the filling of this position.
- Discuss how job descriptions can reflect an organization’s emphasis on corporate social responsibility and being an employer known for its culture of global acceptance.
- Prepare an industry-specific publication job opening advertisement for the open position.
SLP Assignment Expectations
Refer to background readings and what you have found in the Trident Online Library. Cite all sources used to help you through these steps. Support your discussion of key concepts in this SLP assignment with at least one high-quality reference found in a peer-reviewed journal. In addition, cite any references used from the assigned readings.
Use the assignment template, updating the cover page as needed.
Your essay submission should be 2-3 pages, not counting the cover page and reference list page. Use Times New Roman (or Arial) size 12 font; double-space everything, including references, but do not add extra spacing between paragraphs or after headings; and make sure your margins are one inch on all four sides. Left-align all paragraphs so that the right margin is “jagged” rather than straight up and down. You can view how the cover page content should appear in the sample paper found in the APA Style, 7th edition. Student papers do not require a running head on any page. In addition, students are not required to include an Abstract. Your paper’s title should be above the first paragraph on page two (there can be no paragraph with the title heading of “Introduction”). Last, all pages must have a page number in the top-right corner.
