Overview
Hi, I need your help completing both my research paper and presentation for my Modern Greek History and Society class. I’m attaching the syllabus, research paper guidelines, and my draft/topic.
Please follow everything below carefully:
1. Topic & Focus Use the topic I started: how the Greek financial crisis impacted mental health in Greece. You can refine it slightly if needed, but keep the same core idea.
2. Research Paper Requirements (VERY IMPORTANT)
- Length: 2,000–2,500 words
- Must include:
- Clear research question
- Strong hypothesis
- Relevant academic theory
- Literature review (scholarly sources)
- Empirical analysis (data, statistics, studies)
- Conclusion
- Use Chicago author-date citation style (in-text citations + full references)
3. Paper Structure (Follow exactly)
- Introduction
- Research Question & Hypothesis
- Theoretical Framework
- Literature Review
- Empirical Analysis
- Conclusion
4. Sources
- Use academic/scholarly sources only
- Properly cite everything in Chicago style
5. Writing Style
- Clear, organized, and professional
- No grammar mistakes
- Strong, logical arguments supported by evidence
6. STRICT REQUIREMENT (VERY IMPORTANT)
- NO AI USE AT ALL
- Do NOT use ChatGPT or any AI writing tools under any circumstances
- The paper must be completely human-written and original
- It must not be detectable or flagged in any way (this is required by the syllabus)
7. Presentation Requirements
- Length: 8–10 minutes
- Create a PowerPoint (or similar slideshow)
8. Slides Structure
- Title slide (topic + my name)
- Research Question
- Hypothesis
- Theory
- Literature Review (key points only)
- Empirical Findings
- Conclusion
- References
9. IMPORTANT FOR PRESENTATION
- The same exact research question and hypothesis from the paper must be used in the slides (no changes)
- The presentation must directly reflect the paper’s actual findings (not general info)
- Clearly explain the results of the empirical analysis and whether the hypothesis is supported or not
10. Presentation Content
- Keep slides simple (bullet points, not paragraphs)
- Focus on main ideas only
- Everything should connect clearly to the research question
11. Speaker Notes (VERY IMPORTANT)
- Add detailed speaker notes for each slide so I know exactly what to say
- Notes should be enough to cover the full 8–10 minutes
12. Design
- Clean, professional, easy to read
13. Goal Everything (paper + presentation) should meet all requirements and be strong enough for an A-level submission.
Let me know if anything is unclear before you start.
