Overview
Feedback is an essential component when supporting others in carrying out services. For this assignment, you will evaluate the feedback given in five separate scenarios and discuss strategies for providing feedback in your future career.
Your instructor will provide you with five scenarios for use in this assignment.
Instructions
For each of the five scenarios, complete the following using the template provided by your instructor:
Feedback Ratio Analysis
Identify whether the ratio of affirming to corrective statements is higher or lower than 4:1.
Strengths in Feedback Delivery
Describe two aspects of the feedback delivery that followed best practices according to behavior-analytic research.
Opportunities for Improvement
Provide two specific suggestions for improving the feedback delivery. Suggestions should be actionable and grounded in behavior-analytic best practices.
Feedback Reception
Describe two aspects of how the feedback was received (for example, verbal responses) and evaluate whether these responses align with best practices.
Critical Elements of Effective Feedback
Using your textbook and/or peer-reviewed behavior-analytic literature, discuss at least six critical elements of effective feedback and explain how you plan to apply these elements in your own professional practice to promote performance growth. (Approximately one page or three well-developed paragraphs.)
As you evaluate feedback delivery, refer to the Capella Compassion Code [PDF] and consider how compassion, dignity, and professional respect are demonstrated (or could be strengthened).
Additional Requirements
- Written Communication: Writing should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
