  INSTRUCTIONS
  Choose one of the options from below and after close reading answer these questions:
  
  1) We have studied multiple special topics throughout the semester in this course. In the reading(s) that you chose, what special topics from the class emerge? Please give an in-text example for each special topic and your analysis of how it connects to the special course topic.
  
  2) Identify one of literary elements that the author uses effectively in their work. Give 2 in-text examples with analysis (1 for each reading if you choose #2).
  If you want credit for this, you are forbidden from using outside sources, AND you are forbidden from using artificial intelligence tools of any kind. This includes rephrasing, paraphrasing, & summarizing functions & tools—& yes, this includes Grammarly & other writing editing software). DO NOT USE ANY OF IT FOR THIS. All writing should be your own original, unadulterated work that is typed out by you. Critical thinking requires that you perform the thinking and work and do not rely on other tools.
