ASSIGNMENT TOPIC: This assignment is about learning how to prompt AI tools and analyze the assumptions in their responses.
WHAT TO DO:
STEP 1 — Choose a topic related to the class Examples:
- how knowledge is produced
- science and power
- objectivity
- intersectionality
STEP 2 — Ask TWO AI tools (ChatGPT + another like Gemini or Claude) the SAME question about the topic
STEP 3 — Compare their answers
STEP 4 — Analyze the assumptions behind their responses
WHAT TO WRITE:
Write ONE response (~500 words total)
STRUCTURE (VERY IMPORTANT):
- What question was asked to the AI tools?
- What did each AI say? (brief summary)
- What assumptions does each AI make?
- What do they take for granted?
- What perspectives are missing?
- Any bias?
- How are the answers different?
- tone
- depth
- interpretation
- Why do these differences matter?
- what does this show about AI and knowledge production?
IMPORTANT RULES:
- Do NOT just summarize AI answers
- Focus on analyzing assumptions
- Keep it simple and clear
- No citations needed
- No references page
- Paragraph format only
STYLE:
- Around 500 words
- Sound like a student, not AI
- Be direct and clear
GOAL: Show how AI tools produce knowledge and what assumptions they rely on.
