iInstructions:
In this reflective essay, connect your experience of watching the concert to what you have learned in this course. Use dance-specific terminology we have discussed in class, and consider how the performance may have expanded, challenged, or reshaped your definition of dance.Rather than critiquing the pieces, focus on describing what you saw, interpreting the meaning or impact, and making personal or conceptual associations. Choose three or four pieces from the concert to explore in your writing.
Your essay should include:
An opening paragraph that introduces your overall experience and ideas,
One paragraph (4–6 sentences) for each selected piece,
A closing paragraph or two that reflects on the concert as a whole and how it relates to your learning in this course.
A sample rubric and outline are provided below to help you structure your writing. Please note that verbs and adjectives separated by slashes in the outline are suggestions meant to spark your thinking—they are not meant to be used as-is. Choose the words that best express your own observations and reactions.
Word Count: 600 to 800 words
