Final draft

Overview

Your personal classroom management plan is the cornerstone for the structure of your classroom environment. The tone of your classroom environment is reflected in your professional communication with students, families, and colleagues. It is also reflected in your management, engagement, and instructional strategies. It is imperative for you to have an understanding of how you wish to structure both physical and digital learning environments and communicate these decisions with stakeholders.

For this benchmark assignment, revise and add to your comprehensive classroom management plan essay based on the feedback you received from your instructor on your rough draft in Topic 3 and the peer review feedback you received in Topic 5.

In a 1,000-1,250 word essay, create the final draft of your classroom management plan. You may use previous assignments to help compile the information needed for each section.

Note: Do not copy and paste tables, charts, or lists. Instead, use academic language (minimizing the use of first-person language).

Include the following sections in a classroom management plan:

  • Title Page: Create an appropriate APA formatted title page.
  • Introduction: Create an introduction appropriate for this essay. Introductions should provide a roadmap of the paper and end with a strong thesis statement.
  • Section 1 Professionalism: Reflect on upholding professionalism as an educator to support an equitable educational environment for students. This may include professional standards, the code of ethics, and relevant laws or school policies.
  • Section 2 Engagement and Motivation: Discuss the importance of an environment that engages and motivates students. Describe specific ways a classroom environment can increase student engagement and motivation.
  • Section 3 Philosophy and Classroom Model: Explain an appropriate classroom management philosophy. Identify and analyze one of the research-based classroom management models discussed in the Topic 3 assignment and explain how it aligns with the philosophy.
  • Section 4 Equitable Classroom Procedures: Explain how procedures and consequences minimize distractions, maximize instructional time, and foster equity in both physical and digital learning environments.
  • Section 5 Expectations, Interventions, and Reward Systems: Discuss classroom expectations, interventions, and rewards systems for both inclusive physical and digital learning environments. Explain how the classroom expectations, interventions, and rewards systems promote positive and safe relationships, high expectations, and equity for all students in both physical and digital learning environments.
  • Section 6 Cooperative Learning Environments: Explain how cooperative learning strategies can motivate and engage students, the effect of visuals on the classroom environment and student learning, the teacher’s role in fostering students’ engagement, and how expanding students’ collaboration and communication can benefit student learning.
  • Section 7 Communicating with Families: Discuss the importance of communicating with families at the beginning of the year. Explain how this communication at the beginning of the year can create positive partnerships with families. Describe why continued communication throughout the year is important and how building positive family partnerships can support communication when challenging situations arise.
  • Conclusion: Create a conclusion that summarizes the importance of a classroom management plan and justifies how the essay supports an effective plan.

Support your classroom management plan final draft with an additional 3-5 scholarly resources.

Note: You are adding to the already existing resources from the rough draft. Each section needs a minimum of one in-text citation.

Note: This assignment may be added as an artifact to the teacher toolkit you created in ELM-211 or added once your ELM-211 teacher toolkit has been created.
