Overview
In Part I of Assignment #6, you wrote a formal policy comment addressed to decision-makers and agencies. In Part II, you will transform your portfolio environmental issue into a short public-facing video campaign designed for social media audiences.
The goal of this assignment is to practice adapting scientific and environmental communication to a different audience, tone, and platform. Unlike the policy comment, which emphasizes formal argumentation and evidence-based policy language, this assignment focuses on accessibility, engagement, persuasion, and audience connection.
You will create a short environmental communication video that combines scientific credibility with effective storytelling strategies commonly used in social media and mass media campaigns. You will not post this on TikTok or Instagram but that is the format (see below).
