Overview
Once you have designed and implemented a behavior intervention support plan, it’s important to determine the efficacy of your plan. For this assignment, identify which data collection method is the most appropriate for the client’s case. This method will be used to monitor data during the implementation of the behavior plan.
Instructions
Use the Measurement, Data Display, and Data-Based Decisions Template [DOCX] to complete the following:
- Data Collection Method: Explain the process of measurement you will use to track the progress of your case study. Remember, this is NOT ABC data collection. Instead, choose a data collection method to utilize while the behavior plan is being implemented.
- Within your assignment, speak to the following:
- Which data collection method did you choose?
- Why did you choose that method?
- Why were other options ruled out?
- Ensure you speak to the environmental aspects contributing to your decision.
- Be sure to support your decision with at least one scholarly or professional resource.
- Within your assignment, speak to the following:
- Data Display: Select an appropriate form of visual display of behavioral data (choose from line graphs, bar graphs, cumulative records, semilogarithmic charts, or scatterplots) from which valid and reliable decisions are best analyzed in your case study.
- Identify a format to visually display the data.
- Discuss why you choose this one and ruled out other options.
- Please be sure your graph includes baseline as well as intervention data.
- Data-Based Decisions: Discuss how to use the graph and data to make data-based decisions.
- Explain how the chosen graph will assist in the decision-making process.
- Be sure to support your decision with at least one scholarly or professional resource.
Be sure to complete the self-assessment grading rubric included in the template.
Additional Requirements
- Written communication: Should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
- APA formatting: References and citations are formatted according to current APA style guidelines. Refer to the Writing Center as needed.
- Resources: 1–2 scholarly or professional resources cited and included on a reference page.
- Length: 2–3 double-spaced content pages plus title page and references list.
- Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 points.

By successfully completing this assignment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and rubric criteria:
- Competency 3: Develop a plan to measure, generalize, and maintain intervention strategies.
- Explain the process of measurement chosen to analyze a particular case study.
- Explain why a particular data display is most appropriate for the given set of behavioral data.
- Analyze how the selected form of data display best allows data-based decision-making for a particular case.
- Competency 5: Communicate in a manner that is scholarly and consistent with expectations for professionals in the field of psychology.
- Demonstrate an academic writing style through well-organized prose that follows assignment guidelines.
- Demonstrate compliance with APA style, citation, and referencing guidelines.
