Overview
Standards-based lessons are important in early childhood education because they set clear learning goals for young children. These goals make sure children learn important concepts and skills. By using these lessons, teachers can track progress and ensure that children are meeting key developmental milestones. This approach also helps prepare children for future learning by building a strong foundation of knowledge and skills.
Objective:
After reviewing several pre-made lesson plans, you will design your own hands-on, age-appropriate lesson plan for PreK or Kindergarten students.
- You will choose one of the following topics for your lesson: Ordering and Patterning, Measurement, or Communicating with Graphs.
- Your lesson should engage students through interactive activities that are developmentally appropriate for young learners.
