Step 1: Watch the following "Profile Assignment" video
The video is orientated for teachers, since it was produced by Cuyamaca College Instructional Designer Rhonda Bauerlein, who is now retired.- Whenever you hear or read "teacher", just think "student" instead.
Step 2: Go to your Canvas Profile
- Open the following link in a new tab: https://gcccd.instructure.com/profile
- By opening in a new tab, you can see your profile.
Step 3: Add a recognizable picture of yourself to your profile
- You are encouraged to include a recognizable picture of yourself.
- However, if you prefer not to include a recognizable picture, just be sure to note that you prefer an alternative picture type instead.
Step 4: Edit your profile, and in the Biography section type these 3 items:
- About you: 2-sentences or more.
- Why you are enrolled in the course: 1 sentence or more.
- What about the course topic interests you the most: 3 topics or more.
- I recommend using the chapters as topics.
Step 5: Add your Pronouns
- I encourage you to add your pronouns. To add your pronouns, go to:
- https://gcccd.instructure.com/profile/settings.
- On the right-hand side, click “Edit Settings”.
- On the left-hand side, a drop down menu will appear next to “Pronouns”.
- Select the pronouns you prefer.

Step 6: Use Submit Assignment button at the top of this page to submit the URL to your profile.
- Correct URL: The URL you submit should look like this: https://gcccd.instructure.com/about/###### where ###### is a unique number for each person.
- To obtain the correct URL, double click on Your Name's "Profile" text in the top left corner.
- The URL in the web address bar will update from https://gcccd.instructure.com/profile to your https://gcccd.instructure.com/about/361768.
- Note that the number will be different for your profile.
- Copy the updated URL so you can Paste it when you submit this assignment.
- Incorrect URL: The URL you submit should NOT look like this: https://gcccd.instructure.com/profile because if you include this link, and I click on it, it will direct me to my own profile, instead of your profile.
Step 7: Recheck that you have the Correct Link in Step 6
- If you do not have the correct link with numbers, I strongly recommend re-watching the "Profile Assignment" video.

Rubric
Rubrics are “a guide listing specific criteria for grading or scoring academic papers, projects, or tests”. Every assessment in the course has a rubric. A table of this assessment's rubric is provided below for students. However, this table is not accessible for some screen readers.
For students using a screen reader, an accessible version of the rubric table can be accessed by scrolling down further or clicking on the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the assessment and selecting "Show Rubric".
