Assessment Description
In the dynamic world of technology, the purposeful integration of technological tools or platforms within educational settings can transform instruction and learning. Technology integration should add value to student learning and create more interactive, engaging, and personalized learning experiences. As a curriculum leader, you play a pivotal role in researching, evaluating, and assisting in the implementation of new technology.
Part 1: Researching New Technology- ENSURE THAT DIGITAL CAAN BE SAVED WITH MY NAME ON IT!!!!!!!
Add a New Technology section to the digital portfolio you created in EDU-527 to gather professional resources that you can utilize within your professional role. Research at least two additional technology tools or platforms that could be utilized to support the unit plan in Topic 5. Include the following for each:
- The name of the tool or platform, link if applicable, and the purpose of the technology.
- Describe how the new technology promotes and/or supports instructional practices or student learning.
- Justify how the technology adds to or expands beyond what can be demonstrated in other formats (e.g., pencil and paper, discussions, observations).
Note: When submitting this assignment, specify the additional section where this information can be found. If you have not taken EDU-527, add your technology tools to the same document as your reflection in Part 2.
Part 2: Technology Reflection After researching additional technology tools, reflect on the technology integration when supporting teachers during planning. In 350-500 words, address the following:
- Discuss the role of a curriculum leader in helping teachers develop the necessary skills and confidence to use new technology effectively. Consider the types of professional development support that curriculum leaders can implement to help teachers integrate new technology into their instruction.
- Explain what purposeful integration of technology looks like within a lesson or unit. Include scholarly citations to support your explanation.
- Develop 3-4 questions that teachers could use to assess the effectiveness of technology tools or platforms before integrating them within a lesson or unit.
- Provide at least two examples of how you could support families who do not have access to technology, do not speak English, or are not technologically savvy.
Support your work with 2-3 scholarly resources.
Submit a link to your digital portfolio specifying the section where this assignment is located, reflection, and scholarly resources as a single document. Ensure the link can be viewed by others prior to submitting.
