Purpose of the Assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to help students support their nursing research topic and research questions through the review and analysis of scholarly nursing research articles. Students will summarize two research articles related to their selected nursing topic and explain how the articles support their research problem and nursing practice.
Assignment Requirements
1. Connection to Research Topic and Research Questions
All sections of this assignment must be directly related to your selected nursing research topic and research questions.
Your:

must all connect to the same nursing research topic.
Example:
If your topic is:
Infection Control Among Nurses
Then your article summaries and reflection should focus on:
- Infection control practices
- Nurses’ knowledge
- Nurses’ attitudes
- Compliance with infection prevention guidelines
- Patient safety related to infection prevention
Avoid including information unrelated to your selected topic or research questions.
2. Search for Scholarly Articles
Students must search for scholarly nursing research articles using reliable academic databases such as:
- PubMed
- CINAHL
- ScienceDirect
- Google Scholar
- EBSCO
Article Requirements:
The articles must:
- Be related to your selected nursing topic
- Be scholarly and research-based
- Include nursing or healthcare relevance
- Support your research problem or research questions
3. Select 2 Research Articles
Choose two research articles that help explain:
- Why the problem exists
- Why the issue is important in nursing
- How the problem affects:
- Patients
- Nurses
- Healthcare outcomes
4. Article Summary Requirements
For each article, students must include the following information:

Write one reflection paragraph explaining:

- Common themes found in the literature
- Concerns or gaps identified in the research
6. APA 7th Edition Requirements
Students must use APA 7th edition format including:
- Title page
- In-text citations
- Reference page
- Double spacing
- Times New Roman, 12-point font
- Proper organization and headings
7. Grammar and Academic Writing
- Use professional and academic language.
- Organize your paper clearly.
- Check grammar, spelling, and sentence structure before submission.
