Based on the lecture, readings, and the documentary you watched this week, discuss the following:
Task One:
- Looking at the history of society's treatment of those with disabilities, what information was new or stood out/was important to you? Why? Support your responses with cited examples from the assigned readings and the documentary. Be sure to clarify the sources you reference (author of reading and page number or title of documentary).
Task Two (Choose ONE of the following for Task Two):
- For those familiar with other countries, does that country offer protections similar to the ADA does in the United States? What similarities or differences in treatment of those with disabilities have you noticed. Provide specific details (name of the country, what you have observed related to accessibility, what you are familiar with for accommodations).
- For those who are not familiar with other countries, how have you seen the impacts of the ADA in public settings you have visited (consider places of work, school, et cetera). What is successful and what needs improvement? Provide specific detail in your description (location, what you observe, et cetera).
