A curriculum leader must understand various professional development models to effectively meet the needs of different educational settings and audiences. This knowledge allows leaders to select the most appropriate approaches to foster teacher growth, improve instructional practices, and ultimately enhance student learning outcomes.
Complete the “EDU-585 Professional Development Models” template. In addition to the three professional development models included in the template, select two additional models for a total of five, and include the following for each:
- Key Features: Provide a description of the key features of each model.
- Benefits: Explain the effectiveness of using the model as it relates to adult learning theory.
- Challenges: Describe at least one challenge of using the model as it relates to adult learning theory.
- Ideal Setting: Discuss the context where each model is best suited.
- Activities: Include at least two activities that could be used for each model.
In addition, select the professional development model you believe is most effective or appropriate for your current or future professional setting, and write a 150-300 word rationale justifying why it would support professional development opportunities and adult learning in your professional setting.
Support your work with a minimum of three scholarly resources.
