Overview
Personal Code of Ethics
Instructions: Healthcare leaders should be aware of their unique attitudes and beliefs when forming ethical assessments. This assignment will consist of two parts:
PART 1: Create your own personal code of ethics (1-2 pages long) that you can use as a guide throughout your healthcare career. Feel free to create your own criteria or sections that align with your professional goals, vision, and beliefs; examples may include (but are not limited to) leadership expectations, responsibility to the patient, community or providers, spiritual goals, etc.
Be creative and use a format that feels natural for you. This could be a written outline, infographic. Make sure that your code of ethics is clearly and professionally written. If any visualization is used, it is purposeful and informs the overall understanding of your code.
PART 2: Write a 1-2 page reflection describing your thought process and reasoning for your personal code of ethics. Include at least two references to specific ethical theories and principles. Address how your faith factors into your personal code as well. Make sure to use the APA style to format your in-text citations and references.
