This is what I have so far This is what I have so far Muffled voices seeped through the apartment wall. Brandon and Kim were fighting again. Brandon's voice was loud and stern. While Kim’s voice was quiet and shaky. When I first moved here, I would press my ear against the wall to hear what all the commotion was about. But now, their arguments had become as familiar as the steady hum of the air conditioner. This time I didn’t bother.

My knees let off a loud pop as I bent over to pick up the napkin that I’d dropped on my way to the kitchen. I paused for a moment to make sure my knees were okay, giving them a gentle rub before standing back up slowly. Suddenly, there was a loud bang that came from Brandon and Kim’s direction that startled me, causing me to jump a little. Someone had slammed their door. I tossed the balled-up napkin into the trash before opening the refrigerator. I grabbed a bottle of the mango lemonade that I’d purchased a few days before.

Heavy footsteps rang in the breezeway outside my apartment door. This drew my attention back towards the commotion that was going on between Brandon and Kim. I walked slowly back to the door and leaned in to get a closer listen

F. I heard three soft taps on my door. My heart jumped because it took me by surprise for someone be at my door. When I was trying to snoop on Brandon and Kim. I looked out the Peep hole and saw Kim. We had a few conversations here and there, but that was about it. If either of us needed to borrow a cup of sugar, we both knew that we could ask one another. I unlocked the door and peeked out to see what Kim needed. The first thing that I noticed was the tear marks that had dried on Kim’s skin. Black streaks formed and dried up, making it obvious that her and Brandon were having an issue. I swung the door open to invite Kim in to see what was going on.

“Hey Kim, come in. Are you Ok?” I said as I swung my arm back in a welcoming motion. Kim stepped in swiftly, without saying a word and quickly shut the door before I could shut it myself. “Not really,” she said while walking to my sofa to take a seat. “Do you want anything to drink?” I asked. “Please!,” She said desperately. Grabbing a cold bottle of water of the fridge. I headed back to the sofa to continue my conversation with Kim.

"What’s going on? How can I help?” passing the bottle of water to Kim while simultaneously sitting back down on the chair diagonal from Kim. Kim twisted the cap off te water, taking several long gulps before lowering the bottle into her lap. staring at the floor and tracing the label with her thumb. There was an awkward silence, and avoiding eye contact. I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees, and said, if our not comfortable talking now. I don’t want you to feel any pressure to talk.
