Diversity, equity, inclusion, and equal rights continue to be important topics in today's workplace. Organizations face challenges in creating environments where employees from different backgrounds feel respected, valued, and have equal opportunities to succeed. At the same time, changes in laws, corporate policies, and public opinion continue to shape how organizations approach these issues.
For this discussion, locate a recent news article or video (published within the last six months) that discusses a current event related to diversity, inclusion, accessibility, equal rights, workplace discrimination, or organizational efforts to promote an inclusive culture.
In your initial post, address the following:
- Provide a hyperlink to your article or video.
- Summarize the current event in your own words.
- Explain how the event relates to concepts covered in this module.
- Discuss the ethical issues involved and identify the stakeholders affected.
- As a manager, what actions would you take if your organization faced a similar situation? Support your response with course concepts and at least one credible source.

Take a few minutes to reflect on the following, and connect your thoughts to ethics, the workplace, and organizations. Remember that these vlogs are an informal way for you to reflect, interpret, and internalize the concepts covered.

This should be a straightforward vlog where you can discuss your thoughts naturally without reading. It is perfectly acceptable to have a few notes available, but your notes should only guide your discussion, not become the presentation.
Think of this assignment as giving a presentation to an audience. Effective presenters do not read word for word from a script. They organize their thoughts, use a few notes if needed, and explain concepts naturally in their own words.
I watch more than 30 vlogs every week, and it is very easy to recognize when someone is reading versus speaking naturally. People do not speak the same way they write, and scripted presentations are immediately noticeable.
This is a management course. One of the most important skills of an effective manager or leader is the ability to communicate naturally with others. These reflections are designed to help you develop that skill. The goal is not to deliver a perfect script but to demonstrate your understanding of the concepts through your own thoughts, examples, and experiences.
Before recording, review the material, think about the prompt, jot down a few key ideas, and then simply talk about them. I want to hear your reflection, not a paper read aloud.

Create a 2-3 minute, self-recorded vlog response to the prompts.
Note: you should explain the concepts naturally, in your own words, as if you were having a conversation with someone. When the presentation becomes too focused on definitions and facts, it loses the personal reflection that the assignment is designed to assess.

Introduction
A primary part of ethics and social responsibility is about being able to communicate. Communication comes in a variety of forms: written, visual, and oral.
For this assignment, you are tasked with crafting a presentation with voice-over. You may use any platform you are familiar with or would like to upskill into using. This could include though not limited to:
- Canva
- Microsoft Sway
- Piktochart
- Prezi
No matter the platform you use, please submit it via an upload or link below when complete. Make sure that if you offer a link, there is no password required.
Research
Every day, decisions are being made, statements being read, and actions being implemented that impact those around us. For this assignment, you are tasked with a current event search to discover an issue impacting society. To do this, the following steps are recommended:
- Think: Is there a hot topic or issue you have read about lately and are interested in? Environmental? Legal? International relations? Philanthropic? You may choose any area of interest; just make sure it is YOU who is interested in it. The topic can be regarding a single organization or be a multinational problem.
- Discover: You may want to check these ethical business issue sites for ideas and jumping-off points.
- Think through different (though common) ethical dilemmas for businesses
- Review some current issues found through news outlets:
- Decide: Choose your topic. Your current event should be no older than one year. However, that does not mean it had to start one year ago, simply that the impacts have surfaced within one year. Make sure that there is a functioning web link to share during your presentation and substantial external research to use for your presentation. Remember that you are required to have a minimum of three references for this assignment.
Review
Once you have chosen the article that interests you, review the ethical dilemma, read all accompanying current event articles, and note the source of these and the lens of the outlet.

Once you have conducted your research and review, you will draft your Ethical Dilemma Analysis. Make sure you have read the instructions for conducting an ethical dilemma analysis.
Presentation Formatting
Create a PowerPoint® presentation with both an audio and visual component.
Below is a list of required components:

- References (at least three)
Presentations should be a minimum of five minutes and a maximum of ten minutes. The condensed length is designed to challenge your summation, communication, and presentation skills. The content and delivery should be thought-through and professional. This is a class presentation; you should design your visual content in a thought-through and professional manner.
