Overview
Module 3: Virtual Reality and Robots and Students with Autism Linoit Assignment
Linoit is an online digital bulletin board. For this assignment, you are going to use Linoit to help you review what you learned about using virtual reality and robots with students with ASD or Robots and Students with Autism Linoit.
I want you to think in terms of creating a Linoit that you would share with other educators, related professionals, and/or parents to provide them with organized information and resources about virtual reality and students with ASD. Not only should it contain relevant content, but it should be well organized and easy for the user to follow.
My intent is to have you learn more about this content by reviewing it as you create your Linoit. Also, you will have an online Linoit that you can share with others.
Do not attempt to do this assignment without thoroughly reviewing the videos and resources on the Linoit resource page in this module. it should make things very clear.
Step 1: Make a Linoit Shared Group with me. You First steps are to join Linoit and make a group to share with me at kcons010.
- Join LinoitLinks to an external site.: You will need to share your Linoit username and password with me to score. Therefore be sure to make them unique.
- Create Linoit board and include the required components: You should name your Linoit with your name.
- Create your Linoit to include the requirements below. YOU MUST work on our shared Linoit. You will find the Linoit groups on the right-hand side of the page under groups or by accessing groups from the top of the page.
You must create the Linoit group for you and me, work on a canvas in our group, and invite me to the group, for me to score the assignment. If you do not, I will score a 0 and give you a chance to complete it in the correct way by the due date.
The arrow in the image below points to where you work on your group Linoit canvas. You do not work in "My Canvases."
Alternatively, you can provide me with your Linoit username and password in the actual assignment in Canvas, so that I can sign in as you, but only if you are comfortable with that.

Linoit Requirements. Each of you will post the following
- Six Key Points about Virtual Reality and Six Key Points about the use of Robots with Students with ASD. You will post 12 key points about virtual reality and robots and students with autism (6 for virtual reality and 6 for robots) from your readings, videos, and online resources You should include a variety of key points. Put a "heading note" above these notes entitled "Key Points about Virtual Reality and Students with Autism, " and Key Points about Robots and Students with Autism."
- Four Useful Websites: You will post the URL, name, and a paragraph description of the online sites where teachers and parents can learn more about virtual reality and robots and their use with students with ASD (two for virtual reality and two for robots). Be sure to include what you learned at those sites. You may use the sites in the module or other sites.
- Two Videos. You will embed two Youtube videos related to students with ASD and virtual reality and robots (one for each) AND you must put a note near each of the videos with a brief description of what you learned in the video. Note: You must embed the video, not just put a hyperlink to the YouTube site. You may use the videos in the module or other sites.
- Upload two Virtual Reality Documents. You must upload two PDF, Word or PowerPoint documents that provide additional information related to the use of virtual reality and robots with students with ASD (one of each). It must be uploaded. Do not simply link to an online document. You just provide a note with the description of the attached document.
- Include Three Functional Images and Headings and ensure your Linoit layout is well organized. This should be done so those visiting your Linoit can easily follow its content. Be sure to include Linoit heading.
Final Step: Post in Canvas when your Linoit is finished, AND include your Linoit username and password so that I can log in to score in case there are issues with how you set up the group.
Below are some suggestions to make your Linoit more functional.
- Make the font large enough on the Linoit and organize it well! The second "A" is a good size font for the text
- Keep the text limited to a few sentences per post. Only include one paragraph in each post. This is to function as a bulletin board. Think about what makes a typical bulletin board in a hallway function.
- Do not simply have long columns with each area's information on the columns. There should be no columns. Instead, there should be individual posts for each requirement
- You should organize your Linoit so that the robot section is easily distinguishable from the VR section. You can use headings and color coding to differentiate.
- Look at the examples provided on the Linoit resource page.
- Listen to the audio email that I sent through Canvas with additional helpful hints
- The organization of content is as important as the content provided.
