Discussion Post (current event): Please research and share a geography-related current event which you've found in the popular media (print newspapers like the Washington Post, magazines, and/or online websites such as National Geographic or Science Daily). News stories with geography-related content can include anything related to weather (hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, record snowfalls or temperature, etc), natural disasters (earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, etc), climate-change/global warming, pollution, demographics, border & boundary changes/disputes, mapping, species habitat, water, etc. Minimum of 300 word.
Discussion Post: This week we watched a video about sedimentary rock. Go to the website http://www.mgs.md.gov/esic/geo/pri.html and find out what your house sits on and how old it is (these are the big words on the side Quaternary, Miocene, Eocene, Paleocene, Cretaceous, etc.) (if you do not live in Prince George's use the site of the college). Then, do a little research and discuss what this tells you about the rocks under your house. How does knowing this change your perspective on where you live? Must be 300 words
