You will pick any form of media you would like to connect to the course. I find that it is easier to work with movies or TV, but I am fine with other forms of media. You have some options for this assignment: You can write a traditional paper comparing the movie/tv show with one of our core themes or course materials, or you can make a PowerPoint presentation. If you decide to do a PowerPoint presentation you have the option to present this on the last day of class for extra credit. More information will be given in class. Finally, you can do a video or vocal podcast either with just yourself or with your peers.
To be successful, students have discussed the Movie or TV show they have picked in a quick summary. Students then relate either a core topic or specific work from the course to said movie/TV show. It should be clear that the student did watch the movie or TV show because of the specific details provided. Students should also explain the concept or work that they will be relating their media too. If a concept is being used students should define the concept as well as give specific instances in which the media expresses said concept. If a specific work is used to relate to media, the student should show that they have pulled out specific instances in the work that are demonstrated in the media selected.
